Dang, Dec 9: An Agriculture Produce Sale Centre established at Ghorahi sub-meteopolis-15 has freed farmers from the hassles relating to access to market.
Consumers are also benefitted with the agricultural products in cheaper prices.
Earlier, farmers in the district were forced to sell their agricultural produces– vegetables, fruits on their own. But, they do not need to worry over market excepting carrying the products to the Sale Centre, said a local Sarita Khadka.
“The vegetable price is cheaper and it is fresh in the Centre compared to other shops. The Centre has facilitated both consumers and farmers alike,” she opined.
A farmer Amar Chaudhary of Ghorahi submetropolis-2 said he had been doing commercial vegetable farming in 10 kattas of land. He shared he can earn over Rs 35,000 per month from vegetable farming.
Cauliflower, cabbage, tomato, chilies and other agriculture items he produces are now sold from the facility.
Similarly, Srijana Chaudhary of Ghorahi sub metropolis-7 mentioned that she was also enjoying the benefit from the facility. She is also a farmer.
In order to benefit the facility, each farmer is obliged to pay Rs 15 every day. They can also set up own stalls in the Centre.
