Gen-Z movement’s violent incidents were among the most tragic
Meanwhile, Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has stated that the arson, looting, and vandalism that occurred during the Gen-Z movement on September 9 (Bhadra 24) constitute one of the most tragic incidents in the country’s history.
Speaking to journalists following her inspection of the current condition of Singha Durbar on Sunday, she remarked that the destruction inflicted upon government buildings was deeply distressing.
She expressed sorrow over the vandalism, arson, and looting that took place during the protests, noting that witnessing the present state of Singha Durbar had been particularly painful. She further expressed confidence that the government would expedite the reconstruction of the damaged structures and restore them to their earlier condition.
Former President Bhandari stated, “The events of September 9 — marked by vandalism, arson, and looting of government buildings — were profoundly saddening. I came here to assess the situation firsthand, and seeing the condition here has caused great sorrow. I hope the government will promptly rebuild these structures and restore them to their original state.”
Reiterating her concerns, Mrs Bhandari emphasized that vandalism, arson, and looting are deeply tragic for the Nepali people, noting that such incidents are unprecedented in Nepal’s history and should never be repeated. #nepal #PM #president
