Gurung returns as Home Minister, Pun appointed Innovation Minister

Kathmandu, June 9: Sudhan Gurung has been reappointed as the Home Minister.

Home Minister Gurung took oath of office and secrecy before President Ramchandra Paudel this afternoon.

He joined Mahabir Pun, who was appointed as the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation.

Gurung and Pun took the oath of office and secrecy before President Paudel at a special ceremony held at the Office of the President in Shital Niwas.

Earlier, Prime Minister Balendra Shah had expanded his cabinet re-appointing Gurung as the Home Minister and Pun as the Innovation Minister.

Home Minister Gurung is a Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP elected from Gorkha constituency-1, while Innovation Minister Pun is an independent MP elected from Myagdi.

It may be noted that Gurung had resigned as the Home Minister after questions were raised about his property details.

An investigation committee formed to investigate the matter had submitted its report to the Government, which was endorsed by the cabinet meeting held earlier today.

Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Shah, Chief Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, heads and representatives of various political parties, MPs, heads of constitutional bodies, and others were present at the oath-taking ceremony. #nepal #rss
