1,228 new cases of coronavirus, 257 die



Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has recorded 1,228 new cases of coronavirus in the latest update.

With this, the number of total infection has reached 42,877 in the country. A total of 13,413 persons were underwent test for the virus on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, 927 infected persons recovered their normal health.

With this, number of people recovering from the COVID-19 has reached 24,207.

Currently, there are 18,413 active cases of coronavirus, according to Ministry Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam.

At a regular press meeting, Dr Gautam informed that six persons lost their lives to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. The death toll has reached 257 with latest update.

There are 10,671 infected persons staying in institutional isolation and 7,742 in home isolation. Similarly, 6,749 persons are in the quarantine across the country.

Treatment is being provided to 141 infected persons at ICU and 17 with ventilator support, according to Spokesperson Dr Gautam.
