3,000 more COVID-19 infected, fatality increased by eight

Kathmandu: A total of 3,093 new cases of COVID-19 has been confirmed in the last 24 hours in the country.

This was confirmed in 13,861 RT-PCR tests carried out in various laboratories across the country. Of them, 1,174 are women and 1,919 men.

Speaking at the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Health and Population today, Spokesperson Dr Jageswar Gautam said the total infections have now climbed to 139,129 with 41,775 active cases.

Of them, 96,609 people have recovered. Today, 2,108 were discharged from various isolation centres.

In Kathmandu valley, 1,702 new infections were reported with 1,431 in Kathmandu, 148 in Bhaktapur and 123 in Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, eight people died today due to the deadly virus. This takes the tally of deaths so far to 765.
