31,000 votes left to be counted in Bharatpur, Balen Shah received over 42,000 votes

CHITWAN: Now, 31,528 votes are left to be counted in Bharatpur Metropolis for finalizing election result.

So far, 96,311 votes have been counted, according to Office of Chief Returning Officer. With this, the vote count has been over from ward 1 to 20 in Metropolis.

The vote count so far has placed Renu Dahal, the alliance candidate, in the leading position with 37,928 votes. She belongs to the CPN (Maoist Centre). Her nearest rival Bijay Subedi of CPN UML has collected 29,633 votes.

Meanwhile, independent candidate Jagannath Poudel has received 12,463 votes.

Chitrasen Adhikari from Nepali Congress has been leading the deputy mayoral post by the wide margin of 16,678 votes. His nearest rival Himala Gurung has collected only 23,443 votes.

Currently, vote count of Ward No 21 and 22 is going on here.

In the voting, a total of 127,839 votes were cast in Bharatpur Metropolis.

Meanwhile, independent candidate Balendra Shah has continued to lead in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor. According to Election Office, has has already received 42,902 votes. His rival, Srijana Singh from Nepali Congress, has garnered 24,867 votes.

In Pokhara Metropolis, Dhanaraj Acharya from CPN (Unified Socialist) has received 45,027 votes while his nearest rival Krishna Bahadur Thapa from CPN UML has received 41,590 votes.

Chiribabu Maharjan and Rajeshman Singh have been leading in vote counting in Lalitpur and Birgunj Metropolis respectively with wide margin.
