Dang, Aug 21: Dang district does not so far have any menace from landslide. But, it is facing higher risks of flooding.

The risks of flood are prevalent in almost all places of the district from east to west direction.

With the sweeping away of the properties including home and kitchen gardens last years, the local government along with administration has also become high alert for safety measures.

It was shared that 35 out of 100 wards in Dang were declared to be highly vulnerable. The villages around Babai and Rapti Rivers are reeling under higher risks according to the District Administration Office.

Govidna Rijal, Chief District Officer, informed that early warning sirens are being installed in 15 out of the 35 vulnerable wards in the current fiscal year.

A digital information board has been set up on the premises of district administration office to know the status of vulnerability.

CDO Rijal said they are stand-by to carry out search and rescue operations in natural disasters whatever intense it is.
