Taplejung, Sept 3: A total of 726 persons have received national identity card in the district. The District Administration Office had begun distributing the national ID cards by collecting related information.
Employee at registration section for national ID card, Basanta Niraula, informed that 347 women and 379 men were provided the national ID cards. However, the administration has prepared 7,967 national ID cards so far.
There was a stack of the essential cards because it took much time for the printing. For the citizen to receive the documents, physical presence in the office is made mandatory, which also hampered in smooth distribution of the card.
“Citizens were requested to appear before the District Administration Office to receive the cards after they were printed and made available at office, but the citizens failed to turn up,” he shared.
However, citizen’s dismal appearance in the office for ID card may be their limited access to notice issued by the administration.
Meanwhile, the people complained that it was worrying to wait for long to get the mandatory document even after giving personal details.
So far, the District Administration Office collected personal information from 69,598 citizens since the fiscal year, 2077/78BS.
The collection of essential details was realized with the mobilization of local levels.
