KATHMANDU: A total of 800,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm Vero Cell vaccine have been brought to Nepal from China on Thursday.
The China-produced vaccines were ferried to Nepal in the wide-body aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation, according to Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, Joint-Spokesperson at the Ministry of the Health and Population.
Joint-Spokesperson Adhikari shared that those vaccines procured from China will be sent to Teku-based Cooling Centre of the Department of Health Services and will be dispatched to vaccination booths all-over the country thereafter.
The vaccines will be flown to Nepal from China for four days in a row, said Adhikari, adding that 3.2 million doses of Vero Cell vaccines will arrive Kathmandu by July 29. So far, Nepal has received over 7.3 million doses of vaccines from various countries.
