Solar Installation Program 2026 Launched in Gurbhakot Municipality–14, Surkhet



Surkhet:  A significant step toward sustainable community development and clean energy promotion has been initiated through the Solar Installation Program 2026 in Gurbhakot Municipality–14, Surkhet, Karnali Province, Nepal. The program aims to improve access to renewable energy in local communities while supporting environmentally friendly and sustainable development practices.

The program is being implemented by Community Development Center Nepal in coordination with SOSEC Nepal and with the valuable support of Sowers Action Hong Kong, China and Sowers Action Nepal. Gurbhakot Municipality has also extended important association and local-level support for the successful execution of the initiative.

Under this program, solar energy systems will be installed to support community needs and promote the use of clean and renewable energy in rural areas of Karnali Province. The initiative is expected to contribute to environmental conservation, reduce dependency on traditional energy sources, and improve the daily lives of local residents.

Community Development Center Nepal has emphasized that access to sustainable energy is essential for long-term community empowerment and rural development. The organization stated that the project reflects its ongoing commitment to working in areas such as community development, environmental sustainability, disaster resilience, and social upliftment across Nepal.

Special recognition has also been given to Sowers Action Nepal for its active contribution and support in making the program possible. The organization has continuously worked in humanitarian and community-focused initiatives across Nepal. In particular, the involvement and leadership of Acharya Pasang Sherpa, Founder President of Sowers Action Nepal, has been highly appreciated for promoting sustainable development and social service initiatives in collaboration with local communities and organizations.

Representatives from the organizing and coordinating bodies expressed confidence that the Solar Installation Program 2026 will create a positive impact in the region and inspire further collaboration for renewable energy and community development projects in Nepal.
