Chitwan, June 21: Vice President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dr Swarnim Wagle has said that the RSP is in fact a campaign for Nepal’s political renaissance.
Addressing the first general convention of the party that began here today coinciding with the party’s fourth foundation day, Dr Wagle said that the RSP is a political expression of the people’s long-held aspiration for positive change and prosperity.
“Our objective is not only to change the government but also to change the political culture,” he said. The RSP is in favour of a governance system based on conscience, rules and regulations, a merit system and citizen-centered democracy. He mentioned that the RSP has not come to contest with the old generation but to establish a new political culture.
Leader Dr Wagle said he said that the RSP aims to build a liberal democracy, a competitive economy, an equitable society and a competent state. He emphasized the need to create an environment where the youth are not forced to go abroad for opportunities, where farmers and workers can live with dignity, and where entrepreneurs can invest without any fear.
Also the Finance Minister in the present government, Wagle mentioned that citizens’ capabilities, institutional strength, and national confidence should be kept at the center to build a self-reliant and confident Nepal. Describing the party’s general convention as the beginning of Nepal’s political renaissance, he called on everyone to participate in the campaign to turn despair into hope, anger into construction, and rebellion into transformation.
“This is a declaration of a journey from irresponsibility to accountability, from protectionism to competition, and from misguided politics to result-oriented democracy,” said leader Dr Wagle.#nepal #rss
