Biratnagar Bhatbhateni reopens after 11 months

Morang, July 13: The Bhatbhateni Superstore located at Shani Mandir Chowk in Biratnagar-6 has resumed operations after 11 months.

The store, which was damaged after being looted and set on fire on September 9 last year during the Gen Z protests, reopened on Saturday following reconstruction. The operators restored the store to its previous form by accelerating the reconstruction work.

Bhatbhateni Director Sabitri Gurung inaugurated the store on Saturday morning by performing a religious ceremony following the Vedic Sanatan tradition.

During the inauguration, Gurung said the Bhatbhateni family was able to rise again from the ashes due to the goodwill, sympathy and affection shown by customers. Recalling that local customers in Biratnagar had repeatedly inquired about when the store would reopen, she said the love and support from customers had further encouraged them.

Meanwhile, Bhatbhateni Chief Operating Officer Panu Paudel said that stores at Koteshwor, Maharajgunj, Chitwan, Bharatpur, Pokhara and Bouddha, along with the Bhatbhateni warehouse, had already resumed operations. According to Paudel, preparations are under way to reopen the stores in Birtamode, Dharan and Tanghal in Kathmandu soon. #nepal
