Kathmandu, July 28: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has consulted with chief whips and whips of different political parties in the House of Representatives (HoR).
The meeting was focused on running parliamentary business in an effective, systematic and dignified manner, it is said.
During the meeting held on Tuesday, discussions were held on making the HoR meetings effective and result oriented, maintaining parliament’s pride and dignity. The next meeting of the HoR is to commence on July 30.
Talking to media persons after the discussions, whip of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Prakash Chandra Pariyar, said the discussions were held on the issues of making the parliament result-focused by upholding parliamentary dignity, norms and values.
He laid emphasis that the ruling and opposition parties should be sensitive to address people’s aspirations by fulfilling their duties.
Pariyar added that the meeting also discussed to run the House until before Dashain as the government has made commitment to offer sufficient business.
Similarly, whip of the Nepali Communist Party, Yubraj Dulal, opined that discussions were held about the role of every political party to run the parliament in a dignified and systematic manner.
Dulal mentioned that though the government has made repeated commitments to introduce bills in the parliament, no bill has been registered so far, adding they expressed the concerns that the ruling party should ask the government to table the bills.
Likewise, another RSP whip, Kranti Shikha Dhital, shared that the meeting was focused on the issue of making the parliament more effective.
Stating that efforts are underway to reach an understanding on the issues of disagreement between the ruling and opposition parties, Dhital expressed belief to forward the parliamentary business in a peaceful manner after reaching a consensus soon. #nepal #rss
