KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has selected leadership in 68 districts.
The Prachanda-Nepal faction has decided to elect chairpersons and secretaries of the districts on Monday. The NCP is divided after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli dissolved the House of Representatives.
The Prachanda-Nepal faction has agreed to reform the party on an equal footing by formulating 9-point criteria.
Although the former Maoists have received 35 districts and the former CPN (UML) in 33 districts, the leadership in nine districts is yet to be finalized. Kathmandu has Basanta Manandhar as chairman and Himal Sharma as secretary, while Lalitpur has Harikrishna Thapa as chairman and Rajkaji Maharjan as secretary.
