KATHMANDU: Benches to conduct hearing on the cases have been assigned at the Supreme Court (SC) around three hours late today as Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana was hospitalized for COVID-19 illness.
It was delayed to assign benches for hearing as CJ Rana did not designate the responsibility of acting Chief Justice to other.
The benches were assigned today at 1:30 pm instead of 10:15 am, the regular time for the same.
Now, the SC assign benches for hearing through a lottery system and it was switched to the historic practice on Wednesday.
A total of 10 benches have been assigned through a lottery draw today: two full benches, seven division benches and one single bench. A total of 192 cases have been allotted to these benches for hearing.
