KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka and Minister of External Affairs of India Dr S. Jaishankar held a telephone conversation on Thursday.
The two foreign ministers exchanged best wishes on the occasion of New Year 2022 and expressed the hope for a better and a prosperous year ahead, according to a press statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the conversation, the two ministers held discussions on the friendly state of bilateral relations. Matters related to the bilateral exchange of visits and the progress made in the implementation of development projects and post-earthquake reconstructions were discussed.
Foreign Minister Khadka thanked the External Affairs Minister of India for the continued support and cooperation extended to Nepal, including in the fight against the COVID pandemic, according to the MoFA.
Meanwhile, the government has cancelled the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s India visit where he was scheduled to take part in the Vibrant Gujarat World Investment Summit.
The Indian government has postponed the summit citing rapid increse of COVID-19 infection in India.
