Jajarkot, Nov 18: Three more earthquake victims of elderly people died in Jajarkot due to cold. According to police, 89-year-old Sugili Nepali of Junichande Rural Municipality-4 Luhadah, 70-year-old Dume Pun of Barekot Rural Municipality-1 Ramidanda and 56-year-old Mansari Kami of Chedagad Municipality-13 Thanwada, who were living in tent after their house was damaged due to the earthquake, died due to cold.
Dume was also a chronic asthmatic patient. Bir Bahadur Giri, Chairman of Barekot Rural Municipality, said that he died due to his stay in tent. Chandra Thapa, Deputy Chief of Chedagad Municipality, said that Mansari was also suffering from asthma for a long time.
Children, pregnant women, the chronically ill and the elderly are more affected due to residing in tent. Respiratory problems have started to appear in children and the elderly. Earlier last week, four chronic patients died due to cold in Nalgad Bheri and Barekot. Within a week, seven elderly people have died.
