Kathmandu, Dec 8, 2019 : Gaurika Singh won a gold medal, her third one, in the ongoing South Asian Games. At the swimming contest held at Satodobato Swimming Complex today, Singh won the coveted gold in 400 meters freestyle.
She won the race with a timing of 4 min 25.28 secs beating her Indian rival Shivangi Sharma, who came second to bag silver with 4 mins 26.22 secs. Ramudi Nudara of Sri Lanka won bronze by clocking 4 mins 41.91 secs.
Along with this, Singh has also created a national record to win three gold medals in a SAG tournament. Earlier, she won gold medals in 200 meters backstroke and 200 meters relay.
Nepal wins gold medal in judo
Nepal has won the gold medal in judo under the 13th South Asian Games today.
Devika Khadka won the medal under the 52 kg category by defeating Tahamida Jerina of Bangladesh.
The game was held at Lagankhel based Nepal Army’s Sports Centre today.
