Kathmandu, Oct 28: Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and National Security Council Chairman KP Sharma Oli, a meeting was held on Sunday to review the current international, regional, and national security environment.
The 35th meeting of the council discussed the escalating conflicts in the Middle East, their potential impact on national security, challenges faced, and the safety of Nepalese citizens in the region, as well as future strategies to be adopted.
Council member secretary Rameshwar Dangal provided insights into the recent international developments and the potential legal challenges they pose to national security.
The meeting also made a decision to recommend to the Nepalese government’s cabinet the policy approval for the purchase of weapons, ammunition, and other military supplies for the Nepalese Army for the fiscal year 2081/82, as per the provisions of the Military Act.
Additionally, the council approved the operational procedures for its meetings for the year 2081. Key participants included the Home and Defense Ministers, the Chief Secretary, the Chief of Army Staff, and the Defense Secretary. #nepal #NSC #MiddleEast #conflicts
