Kathmandu, March 21: The ‘First National Water Conference’ is going to be held here from March 22.
Water and Energy Commission Secretariat and National Federation of Irrigation Water Users’ Association, Nepal are organizing the conference.
At a joint press meet organized here today, Commission Secretary Madhu Prasad Bhetuwal said the government has been making various master plan keeping water in top priority.
The Ministry of Water Supply has been making plan of water sector in order to benefit maximum number of people, he added.
Saying 21 glaciers of the country are at the risk of explosion, Bhetuwal shared that the Commission has been working to protect these glaciers. National Water Resources Policy, 2077 has been brought for appropriate use of water and Water Resource Bill is in under consideration in the parliament, mentioned Bhetuwal.
Federation President, Shambhu Prasad Dulal, said the Federation has been working for use of water making government’s policy and programme related to water systematic.
Stating that the glaciers started damaging from explosion due to impact of climate change in mountainous region of the country, he added such-type of conference would help for practical solution to this.#nepal #’First National Water #rss
