Kathmandu, May 5: Nepali Congress lawmaker Ananda Prasad Dhungana has said the government’s policies and programmes have been brought in the interest of the country and for forward-looking solution.

Taking part in a discussion on the government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS, he said the document has been brought by incorporating all sectors. Policies and programmes are the lens through which to evaluate the government.

In the earlier policies and programmes, the plans were scattered. All three levels of the government included the same programme and there was duplicity. The government has said that through this policies and programmes, there will be no duplicity and it will be organized,” he added.

Dhungana said that any big talk of development would be meaningless until and unless the government made provisions for irrigation, marketization and sound management while emphasizing on agriculture. He suggested that irrigation projects should be managed well.

‘Policies and programmes have not included plans for prosperity’ Lawmaker Bamdev Gautam said that there are shortcomings in the Government’s Policies and Parogrammes for the Fiscal Year 2025/26.

Taking part in the discussions on the proposal presented in the meeting of the National Assembly today by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal, on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, seeking to initiate discussion on the government’s policies and programmes, Gautam commented that the policies and programmes documents contained too much policy aspects and only a few aligning programmes.

The policies and programmes failed to come up with a plan to eradicate corruption and no words were mentioned to stop the protest movements,” he said, adding that the nation cannot go for any other system than socialism guided by the constitution and the policies and programmes should have been oriented to this notion.

Sharada Devi Bhatta said it was welcome to include the issue of bringing commercial risk insurance in the policy and programme. Jag Prasad Sharma stressed the need to focus on increasing exports. “Policies and programmes failed to address the plans of good governance, prosperity and social justice,” he said.

Dr Beduram Bhusal has said policies and programmes would not fulfill the aspirations of the people. Bhusal alleged that the government’s policies and programmes document was not clear in the policy to increase employment by building a self-reliant economy at a time when youths were migrating abroad due to lack of employment in the country.

The goal of the 16th plan has not been taken into account in the policy and program, he pointed out. #nepal #political #rss
