Second day of UML Statute Congress: Group discussion completed



Lalitpur, Sept 6: The second day’s closed session of the CPN (UML) Statute Congress has concluded today.

According to UML’s publicity and publication department chief Rajendra Gautam, the closed session has ended after the group discussion on seven reports presented in the convention at the Sunrise Conference Centre in Godawari, Lalitpur.

Representatives participating in the convention were divided into 10 groups based on province, valley, and central structure for discussions. Representatives based on Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces held separate discussions.

Additionally, representatives from the special valley province, various mass organizations, contact coordination committees and expatriates, as well as central bodies and departmental structures, discussed the reports.

The head of the publicity department, Gautam, informed that during the congress starting at 8 AM on Sunday, the group leaders discussing the report will provide suggestions on behalf of their respective groups. He mentioned, “Based on the suggestions received, Prime Minister and Party chair KP Sharma Oli will respond.

The policy congress will conclude tomorrow with the passing of contemporary proposals.” At the convention, Party chair Oli presented the political report, vice chair Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the proposal for statue amendments, and General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel presented the organizational report, while the Chairman of the Central Advisory Council, Amrit Kumar Bohara, presented report.

Likewise, from the Central Discipline Commission, Chairman Keshav Badal, from the Central Accounting Commission, Chairman Dr. Pushpa Kandel, and from the Central Election Commission, Chairman Dr. Bijay Subba presented the reports of their respective bodies.

There was also a group discussion on the proposal related to the dissenting opinion of standing committee member Karna Thapa. UML publicity department chief Gautam informed that there is an agenda to elect the Central Election Commission tomorrow at the convention.

The convention, which started yesterday with the main slogan ‘Decisive National Strength Building is our resolution: Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali National Destination,’ has the participation of a total of 2,341 people, which includes 2,026 representatives from across the country and an additional 315 organizers.#nepal #political #rss
