Chitwan, Oct 7: A total of 156 prisoners who fled the District Prison Office Chitwan have not returned to the prison.
The prison office said though a notice was issued warning action against those not returning by October 6 the fugitives have yet to return to the prison.
Office Chief Rabindra Prasad Dhungana shared that a total of 578 prisoners have returned in the designated time.
He further informed that communications have been established with the families of 60 among the fleeing jailbirds, and others have not returned despite communications with their families.
A total of 742 prisoners escaped from the prison during the Gen Z Uprising on September 10.
