Kathmandu, Nov 4: Biratnagar Kings have announced the signing of legendary South African cricketer Faf du Plessis for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2 cricket.
Widely regarded as one of the most respected figures in world cricket, du Plessis has previously captained both South Africa’s national team and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Known for his strategic mindset, consistency, and aggressive batting, his inclusion is expected to significantly strengthen the Biratnagar Kings squad, the club said in a statement.
Dipendra Chaudhary, the team director, said, “Having a world-class player like Faf is a matter of pride for Biratnagar Kings and the NPL. His arrival will encourage more international stars to join the league in the future.”
The franchise expressed confidence that du Plessis’ presence will inspire local players and elevate the league’s global profile. “Sharing the dressing room with a player of his caliber will be a great learning experience for our cricketers.
