Kathmandu, Nov 20: Lumbini Lions started their Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket campaign with a win in the ongoing tournament in the capital. Lumbini defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 6 wickets.
Chasing a target of 143 runs, Lumbini reached the total in 18.3 overs at the loss of 4 wickets. For Lumbini, Gulbadin Naib scored an unbeaten 44, while captain Rohit Kumar Paudel contributed 39 runs. In bowling, Chitwan’s Rijan Dhakal took two wickets, and Sohail Tanvir picked up one.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Chitwan opted to bat first at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur and posted 142 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Chitwan, Ravi Bopara top-scored with 66, while captain Kushal Malla added 21, Dev Khanal 14, Deepak Bohara 10, Saif Zaib 15, and Arjun Saud remained unbeaten on 15.
In bowling, Lumbini’s Rubel Trumplemann took three wickets, while Abhishek Gautam and Gulbadin Naib claimed two wickets each. #NPL #cricket
