CPN UML Chair KP Sharma Oli

Kathmandu, Dec 1: The CPN (UML) has received complaints from eight district committees regarding the selection of representatives for the party’s 11th general convention scheduled for December 13–15.

Madhav Dhungel, Secretary of the General Convention Representatives’ Management Committee, confirmed that disputes were reported from Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Dang, Banke, Bajhang, Tanahun, Bara, and Rautahat.

The complaints cited procedural lapses in the selection process, with allegations that representatives had not been chosen in accordance with established guidelines.

Dhungel expressed confidence that the issues emerging from the districts would be resolved promptly.

Representative selection for the upcoming national general convention was conducted on Saturday. Approximately 2,200 representatives are being chosen from among the organized party members. The UML has mandated the inclusion of at least one youth representative from each federal electoral constituency.

Additionally, 45 representatives will be selected from provincial committees, around 1,000 from parliamentary constituencies, 47 from special district committees, 81 from the Dalit community, and 40 from trade unions.

As per party rules, 354 representatives from the organizing central committee automatically qualify to participate in the convention.

Furthermore, 29 representatives from the Central Discipline Commission, 30 from the Audit Commission, 25 from the Election Commission, and 25 from the Advisory Council are also automatically entitled to attend, bringing the total number of automatic representatives to 464. #nepal #uml
