Nepal to face UAE in ICC T20 World Cup warm-up match today



Kathmandu, Feb 3: As part of its final preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup, Nepal will play a warm-up match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today.

According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the match will begin at 5:15 pm at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India.

Led by captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal has earlier played practice matches against the MCA President’s XI in Mumbai and Sri Lanka ‘A’ in Sri Lanka. Nepal won one of the matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’ and defeated the MCA President’s XI in both games.

Nepal will play another warm-up match against Canada on Thursday.

The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 7 and will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Nepal will open its campaign against England on February 8, followed by matches against Italy on February 12, West Indies on Februay 14, and Scotland on February 16, 2026. Nepal was originally scheduled to face Bangladesh instead of Scotland, but Bangladesh will not travel to India, leading to the change in fixtures.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has also announced that it will not play cricket on Indian soil. Following this decision, the ICC and India have expressed regret and are reportedly making efforts to persuade Pakistan to reconsider their decision. #nepal #cricket
