ACC Women’s T20 Cricket: Nepal defeated Bhutan by 50 runs

KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated Bhutan by 50 runs in the ACC Women’s T20 Championship on Friday. Nepal, winning the toss and elected to bat first at the UKM-YSD Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia, scored 94 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Kajal Shrestha was the top scorer for Nepal with 26 runs. Similarly, captain Rubina Chhetri scored 21 runs while Indu Burma scored 20 runs. Other batsmen, on the other hand, could not score double figures.

Sonam was the top wicket taker for Bhutan with 4 wickets. She had spent 13 runs in 4 overs with 1 maiden. Similarly, Anju Gurung and Tashi Cheki took 1/1 wickets each.

In reply, Bhutan had managed to score just 44 runs. Bhutan were all out in 17.5 overs. Except for Chiring Jangmo, no one was able to score a double digit run for Bhutan. Chhiring scored 16 runs off 28 balls.

For Nepal, Sabnam Rai took 4 wickets. She bowled 2.5 overs and spent only 6 runs. Similarly, Kavita Kunwar and Sita Rana Magar took 2/2 wickets each. Similarly, Asmina Karmacharya and Indu Burma took 1/1 wickets each.

The two teams that reach the final of the ongoing competition will be selected for the Asia Cup. The Nepali team is now scheduled to play Kuwait on June 18, Bahrain on June 20 and Hong Kong on June 20.
