
Kathmandu, April 8: The government has started homework to remove Nepal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)’s grey list.
The meeting of the Anti-Money Laundering Steering Committee held on Tuesday decided to finalize and implement the action plan to remove Nepal from the grey list.
In the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel stressed that it is necessary to work in a long-term manner so that Nepal does not fall on the grey list in the future.
Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia expressed the view that Nepal can be removed from the grey list if we work with willpower for it.
Attorney General Ramesh Badal said that institutional good governance is necessary in all state bodies.Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal said that Nepal can come out of the grey list by working according to the action plan with a emphasis on technology.
Nepal Rastra Bank Acting Governor Neelam Dhungana Timsina said that it is necessary to work according to the action plan from the beginning rather than working at the last minute. Nepal was placed on the FATF grey list in February earlier this year.#nepal #FATF #rss
