
Kathmandu, Feb 18: Further reconstruction activities at Jajarkot earthquake affected districts have been started. Agreement has already been signed with more than 600 beneficiaries in Doti district and preparation was underway to send grant amount within few days.
Details collection of losses caused by earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum West was underway, said Executive Chief of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), Dr Bhisma Kumar Bhusal.
He shared that reconstruction activities in Doti district have been forwarded after tallying the data collected last year. There are around 9,000 beneficiaries.
First-phase details collection for reconstruction in Jajarkot and Rukum West was underway and rebuilding activities would begin within few days, he mentioned.
Disaster Study Centre, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University and NDRRMA have signed agreement to collect details of private houses damaged by earthquake in west Nepal and activities were underway in this regard.
A team comprising NDRRMA Under-Secretary Bednidhi Khanal, Sudeep Bikram Bhatta and Ram Bahadur KC imparted training to technicians assigned in the first phase to collect the details.
Similarly, a team has been assigned in Rukum West for the same, NDRRMA added. #NDRRMA #nepal #earthquake
