Kathmandu, Aug 7: All the five people on board were killed in the accident of Air Dynasty helicopter (call sign 9N-AJD). The helicopter crashed in Suryachaur of Nuwakot district today, northern hill top from Tribhuvan International Airport.
According to local police official Shanti Raj Koirala, the helicopter crashed near Shivpuri-7 of Nuwakot. He said that the accident occurred after the helicopter hit the Suryachaur hill.
Locals and police have reached the spot, he said. Air Dynasty was flying for Syafrubesi in Rasuwa from Kathmandu. According to Koirala, there was a fire at the helicopter crash site and the rescue operation is ongoing. The rescue team have recovered all five bodies of the victims.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has said that the helicopter flew from TIA on 13:54 pm but the helicopter lost contact with the Kathmandu tower within 3 minutes.
The helicopter pilot Captain Arun Malla and four Chinese national died on the spot. The name of the victims were Mr Jutad Tang, Mr Jie Li, Ms Yiyad Mu and Mr Zeming Xie.
However, the reason of the crash was not known as the weather and visibility in that location was good.
Recently, a Saurya Airlines plane crashed in eastern side of the Tribhuvan International Airport that killed 17 people.
