Ambika Shrestha’s contribution in women empowerment unparalleled: Former Prez Bhandari



Kathmandu, July 27: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the contribution made by late Ambika Shrestha in the field of heritage conservation, women entrepreneurship and women empowerment is unparalleled.

Paying emotional tributes to late Ambika Shrestha, former President Bhandari said that she will always remember Shrestha. Mrs. Ambika Shrestha, a leading tourism and hotelier, passed away on Shravan 3, 2081 BS.

Ambika Shrestha, the founder of the country’s first five-star heritage hotel Dwarika’s, who was honored with the ‘UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Award’ for the preservation of Nepal’s original cultural heritage, has made an unparalleled contribution to the promotion of Nepali art, culture and civilization and the preservation of heritage through quality and environment-friendly tourism and hotel business.

Former President Bhandari has lauded for the effective leadership role of Mrs Ambika. Ambika has shown successful leadership quality as the president of various business and social organizations including ‘Federation of Business and Professional Women Nepal’, ‘Nepal Heritage Society’, ‘JCI Nepal’ in addition to tourism and hotel business.

Former Prez Bhandari said, “Ambika Shrestha is a source of inspiration for the new generation who wants to serve the society and the nation through entrepreneurship.”
