Kathmandu, May 1: The government has forwarded another ordinance to the Office of the President, aimed at amending laws related to money laundering.

According to a spokesperson at the President’s Office, the ordinance has been officially registered, though its detailed provisions have not yet been made public.

In total, the government has sent eight ordinances to the President for authentication. Among them, ordinances related to cooperatives and public procurement have already been approved.

The remaining six ordinances are currently under review. President Ram Chandra Paudel held consultations with legal experts on Thursday regarding several of the ordinances, including one concerning the Constitutional Council.

The move has drawn criticism, with allegations that the government bypassed Parliament and ignored concerns raised by opposition parties in the House. #Nepal
