Kathmandu, May 8: The Supreme Court has ordered the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) not to implement its decision to sack Dhaka Kumar Shrestha from the post of House of Representative (HoR) member.
A single bench of Justice Til Prasad Shrestha on Monday issued an interlocutory order not to implement the decision of sacking Shrestha from the post. The RSP on April 12 had decided to sack Shrestha from the post and appoint Bindabasini Kansakar, replacing Shrestha.
The SC has called both Shrestha and RSP on March 19 for discussions on the case.
Earlier, the RSP had sacked Shrestha from the party after a leaked audio clip where Shrestha had sought a huge amount of money from medical entrepreneur Durga Prasain to become the health minister.
Shrestha’s lawmaker post was scrapped after the decision.
Shrestha had filed a writ petition at the SC by challenging the party’s action to sack him from the post of MP. The SC has also issued a show cause order in written from RSP and the party’s Disciplinary Committee.
