Approx 100 KGs of gold recovered from Tribhuvan Airport

Kathmandu, July 19: The Revenue Investigation Department has recovered nearly 100 KGs of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport.

A team of the Department arrested the agent and the porter along with the gold that came from Cathy Pacific’s Hong Kong flight. The Department took control of the gold even after passing through the immigration and police check point.

The information that the gold brought hidden inside the brake shoe of motorcycles and scooters passed the customs inspection on Wednesday afternoon was received by RID.

During the investigation, some other people were also detained by the police. It was believed that the smuggled gold was for Indian market.
