Kathmandu: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa conferred the rank insignia of Lieutenant General to Major General Ishwar Hamal at a function held at the Army HQ on Monday.
Lieutenant General Ishwar Hamal’s promotion was approved by the Government of Nepal on 20 June 2020.
Lieutenant General Hamal is currently serving as the force commander of the UNDOF (United Nations Disengagement Observer Force) mission in Syria.
