Nepal Army handed over a helicopter to Manamohan University



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has handed over a grounded helicopter to the Railway and Aeronautics Engineering undergraduate level for practical training.

As per the decision of the Council of Ministers, the Army has handed over NA-039 Chetak helicopter and 47 related part to Manmohan Technical University located in State-1.

The chopper will be used for the experimental practice of the students of that level from this fiscal year 2078/79 BS.

Ashish Narasimha Rana, Director General of Military Air Services, handed over the helicopter to Dirgharaj Mainali, Secretary, Ministry of Social Development, State-1, during a ceremony at the Army Airbase at Tribhuvan International Airport.

The helicopter, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore, India, was provided to the Nepal Army on 2058BS.

Currently, the helicopter was grounded after completing the flight time specified by the manufacturer.

The Nepal Army is confident that the acquisition of the helicopter and some of the backup materials used by the Manmohan Technical University will help in enhancing the technical knowledge of the students studying in the aeronautical field.

The Military Public Relations and Information Directorate has mentioned that in the future also, technical knowledge, skills and similar study materials will be handed over to the Nepali educational institutions.

Vice Chancellor of Manmohan Technical University Dr. Subash Pokhrel, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Yagya Prasad Dhungel and others were present at the handover ceremony.
