Dang, March 27: Chairman of the Nepal Samajbadi Party (Naya Shakti) and former Prime Minister, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, stated that the country’s economy and politics were in turmoil.
Speaking at a program in Ghorahi today, he emphasized that the ongoing challenges could be addressed through a directly elected presidential system, achieved by building consensus among political parties.
Chair Bhattarai argued that the current governance model had failed to meet expectations despite the extensive political rights enshrined in the constitution. He asserted that economic development thrives in nations with a directly elected executive.
“The constitution has guaranteed rights but has failed to drive economic development, leaving people disappointed,” he remarked. #nepal
