Chitwan, July 2: The Bharatpur Metropolitan City has honoured former captain of National Cricket Team, Sandeep Lamichhane.
Organising a programme here today, the metropolis felicitated cricketer Lamchhane with Rs 100,000. Mayor Renu Dahal and Deputy-Mayor Chitra Sen Adhikari jointly honoured Lamichhane.
On the occasion, Mayor Dahal expressed the view that hared that such type of honour would encourage the sportspersons towards sports, adding the metropolitan city has kept the programme of honouring athletes in priority.
The metropolis has been providing possible support in sports sector including constructing stadium, she mentioned.
Chairperson of District Cricket Association, Sudip Piya lauded the role played by the metropolitan city for the development of sports sector.
