Bhojpur, March 25: Flights at Taksar Airport in Bhojpur Municipality-12 have resumed after a three-month suspension.
The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), resumed its service to the sole airport in Bhojpur on Tuesday, confirmed NAC Bhojpur Station Chief Prakash Khadka. The airline is set to implement a new flight schedule for Bhojpur.
The flights were suspended due to the need for repairs on the twin-otter aircrafts.
Currently, the district has access only to NAC services, which began in 2035 BS. The airport’s runway is 545 meters long and 20 meters wide. The suspension of service had caused significant inconvenience, especially for patients requiring referral cases, aspiring air travelers, and those for whom alternative travel options were not practical.
NAC operates two narrow-body aircraft for Bhojpur. One aircraft has been repaired, while the other is still undergoing maintenance. The flight schedule is expected to return to normal once both aircraft are fully operational.
