‘Bidyapati’s contributions are unparalleled’

Janakpurdham, Nov 25: Nepali Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi has said that poet laureate of the Maithili literature Bidyapati made significant contributions in the fields of public welfare and inclusion in addition to language, literature and aesthetics.

Addressing the ‘Bidyapati Memorial Festival 2080’ in Janakpurdham, Nepal, on Saturday, Nidhi said that poet laureate Bidyapati strongly raised voices for democracy, public welfare and against social discrimination and ill practices through the Maithili language and literature.

Likewise, chief attorney of Madhes Province Birendra Kumar Thakur said that Bidyapati is highly revered due to his role to spread the Maithili language through his literary creations.

On the occasion, Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, Bidyapati Memorial Promotion Committee Chairman Chandra Mohan Chaudhary and other speakers spoke about the contributions of Bidyapati.

During the event, RSS Madhes Province Chief Tikaram Sunar and correspondent of Radio Nepal Ajaya Kumar Jha were honoured for their contributions to raise the contemporary issues of Madhes through the Nepali language. RSS
