Bill relating to transitional justice will be finalized soon: PM Dahal

Kathmandu, May 21: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the bill relating to transitional justice would be finalized soon by building consensus within parliament and among political parties.

At an interaction organized on the occasion of 14th memorial day of the enforced disappeared fighters, PM Dahal, who is also the Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), said the bill on transitional justice would be finalized in a way it respects and provides relief to the family of the disappeared and injured fighters.

“Discussions were being held positively among the coalition partners. Political parties, including Nepali Congress and CPN UML, have support and commitment to the bill. So, I assure you that your demands would be addressed by the coming bill on transitional justice,” PM Dahal reminded.

He further said unity among the revolutionary forces is imperative for socialist revolution.

On the occasion, General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party, Netra Bikram Chand, viewed democracy becomes robust only when the money and power have nothing to do with election.

Deputy General Secretary of CPN UML, Pradip Gyawali, viewed although his party is in opposition, it would not obstruct on finalizing transitional justice.

Nepali Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak viewed it is an opportunity for PM Dahal to conclude transitional justice, a remaining task of the peace process.
