
Birgunj, March 28: The Birgunj Customs Office recorded imports worth over Rs 390 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, reflecting an 11.40% increase (Rs 39.92 billion) compared to the same period last year.
According to Chief Customs Administrator Dipak Lamichhane, the highest imports were of petroleum products, raw soybean oil, and motor vehicles.

Petroleum products (five types): Rs 122 billion (up from Rs 120.53 billion last year).

Raw soybean oil: Rs 29.29 billion, a significant rise from Rs 5.78 billion last year.

Iron and iron materials: Rs 22.51 billion, slightly up from Rs 21.94 billion last year.

Machinery and parts: Rs 21.67 billion, an increase from Rs 18.65 billion in the previous fiscal year.
