Saptari, Sept 12: The blood transfusion centre inside Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj, Saptari is reeling under shortage of blood.
“We are struggling to fulfill the demand for blood. Currently, we are making do with blood donated by attendants of patients,” said the centre in-charge, Nabin Kumar Jha. Lack of blood donation programmes has also made the matter worse. The hospital requires five to seven pints of blood on a daily basis. Jha urged concerned authorities and organisations to organise blood donation programmes to supply blood.
