Buddhism should not be allowed to weaken: PM Oli

KP Sharma Oli

Kathmandu, July 24: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said Buddhism propounded by Siddharth Gautam born in Nepali land should not be allowed to weaken as it is also based on science.

Addressing a programme organised by Nepal Mandal Literature Culture Trust here today to release a book ‘ Buddha’s original philosophy’ penned by Buddhist scholar Dr Ajay Krinti Shakya, Prime Minister Oli shared that although he had thought to come to the book release programme with happy mind, he had to come with heavy heart as he had reached the Saurya Airlines plane crash site before coming here.

He paid tributes to those killed in the plane crash and extended condolences to the bereaved family members, wishing the injured Captain a speedy recovery.

“Nepal is a country spreading awareness of humanism in the world. An international Medication Centre was built in Lumbini during my previous premiership with a thinking that teachings of Buddha should be expanded”, he mentioned.

Prime Minister Oli also expressed happiness over Dr Shakya imparting his knowledge about Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy. #buddhisim
