Cabinet decides to send power trade bill to the parliament

Kathmandu, June 7: Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to table the bill designed to make arrangement regarding power trade in the federal parliament.

Spokesperson of the government and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, said the decision was taken to direct the concerned ministry to table the bill in the parliament.

The meeting appointed Joint-Secretary of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Madan Bhujel, as the Chairperson of Kalimati Fruits and Vegetable Market Management Development Committee as per the Ministry’s proposal.

Similarly, prohibiting the strike in essential service in accordance with Clause 3 (1) of the Essential Service Operation Act- 2014 at Home Ministry’s proposal, the Cabinet meeting decided to publish the information with the order in the Nepal Gazette.

According to this Act, this kind of decision has to be made every six months. The meeting has decided to use the national forest of Rasuwa and Nuwakot and remove the trees there for the right of way of the Upper Mailungkhola Hydro Power Limited and its tower.

The Cabinet meeting has approved the visit of Kathmandu Metropolitan City mayor Balendra Shah to Brussels of Belgium in connection with participating in the Metropolis World Congress and Brussels Urban Summit-2023 to be organized in Brussels from June 12 to 15.

It decided to convert the Panchkhal-based Industrial Village in Kavre into a Women Exclusive Entrepreneurs Special Industrial Village.
