Kathmandu, Jan 5: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the main governing body of Nepal’s cricket, has announced the Nepali squad for the upcoming ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup to be held in Malaysia from January 18. The 15-member team, led by captain Puja Mahato, was revealed on Saturday.
The squad includes vice-captain Soni Pakhrin, along with Sana Praveen, Jyotsinka Marasini, Kusum Godar, Sabitri Dhami, Krishma Gurung, Riya Sharma, Seemana KC, Sneha Mahara, Kiran Kumari Kunwar, Rachana Chaudhary, Trisana BK, Anu Kadayat, and Alisha Kumari Yadav.
Nepal secured its place in the World Cup by emerging as champions in the U-19 Asia Qualifiers. The U-19 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place in Malaysia from January 18 to February 2, featuring 16 teams.
Nepal is placed in Group D alongside Bangladesh, Australia, and Scotland. The Nepali team will kick off their campaign against Bangladesh, followed by matches against Scotland and Australia.
