Kathmandu, Feb 15: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Nepal’s cricket governing body, has officially opened applications for the position of Head Coach of the Nepal Men’s Cricket Team. After head coach Monty Desai left Nepal, CAN decided to call for the new head coach.
The appointed coach will be responsible for leading the national team’s development, ensuring consistent performances at the international level through structured coaching programs, a notice of CAN has stated.
Key responsibilities:
– Delivering high-quality, international-standard coaching.
– Leading a team of support staff and specialists to enhance player performance.
– Supporting the identification and development of emerging cricketers.
– Collaborating with the Cricket Operations team to develop talent identification and coaching programs within the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Eligibility criteria:
– ECB / CA Level 3 coaching accreditation (or equivalent).
– Minimum of five years of coaching experience in professional cricket (ICC Full Member, First-Class, or Associate level).
– Strong understanding of cricketing culture, ODI cycle, and tournament structures.
Preferred qualifications:
– Knowledge of Associate cricket and its development challenges.
– Strong communication skills in English and proficiency in ICT tools.
The CAN notice stated that the position offers competitive remuneration along with full-board accommodation in Nepal. Additional benefits include coverage of travel expenses within Nepal and on tours with the team.
