Catering Entrepreneurs demand for opening of business

Kathmandu: The Federation of Nepal National Party Palace and Catering Entrepreneurs has said that it is regrettable to stop the operation of catering and party palaces and has requested the government to allow immediate opening of their business.
In a press conference at Kathmandu, the leaders of federation has expressed its regret over the ban on running its business.

The federation said, “It is very unfortunate that the government of Nepal has banned the operation of our catering and party palaces even though it allows the operation of similar businesses like hotels, restaurants, shopping malls and full-fledged aviation as well as transportation.”

Speaking on the occasion, President Lila Bahadur GC said that the party palace and catering should be opened as soon as possible. “It’s not just about business, it’s for the country. In a sense, the taxes we pay strengthen the economy. Unemployment ends. Entrepreneurs have worked with loans from banks and financial institutions. Because of this, banks and financial institutions also support Sustain,” he said.

He remarked that it was unfortunate that the party palace was closed while businesses of the same nature were operating. “We had submitted a memorandum to the Home Minister on July 29 to opening of our business. He expressed his commitment to continue. Similarly, we had forwarded a request letter to the CCMC on September 25. The CCMC has already sent a proposal to the Council of Ministers in this regard. We are waiting for the cabinet decision, but no initiative have been taken.”

According to the federation, the country is facing the problem of the entire economy and unemployment due to the lack of seriousness on the part of the government and stakeholders in the issue of entrepreneurs.

Stating that they are very serious about the health of the general public, the federation has now committed to maintain the required physical distance, use sanitizer, and use masks and gloves while conducting business. Similarly, the federation has made it clear that it is ready to run its business by entering the venue without increasing the capacity of the halls of the party palaces by 35 percent at present.
