KATHMANDU: The government is preparing to reopen the closed cinema halls. A meeting of the Covid-19 Control Management Center (CCMCC) has recommended to open the movie halls with effect from February 13.
Earlier, the hall was closed by the local administration under the direction of the government as the coronavirus infection was on the rise.
Nepali films being screened during the closing of the hall have been affected. Producers have been hit by the postponement of the release dates of the films which have even started publicity by setting release dates.
The screening of the movie ‘Ma Yasto Geet Gaunchhu 2‘ scheduled for February 6 and the movie ‘Mantra‘ scheduled for release on February 11 has become uncertain. Now that the cinema hall is open, the producers and directors have become optimistic that Nepali films will move forward by setting their release dates.
